Jurek's good run continues. On Sunday, he played in the Challenger final in Poznań Open. He has been the first Polish winner in the 20-year history of this challenger. This will result in Jurek obtaining the highest rank on Monday. ATP - 82.

Jurek won the ATP Challenger Netherlands in the Hague. He lost only one set throughout the tournament. This has been the third such title in his career and the second this year. This success resulted in breaking the ATP ranking top 100 group. Currently he is the 87th the best tennis player in the world.

Jurek lost in the 3rd round of Wimbledon with an experienced German player, Florian Mayer after a fierce duel, 6 7 (5), 6:2, 6:3, 3:6, 5:7. He gained 115 points in Wimbledon which will grant him the 109th place in the ATP ranking, the highest place in his career so far. On Saturday, he returned to Łódź, where he was warmly welcomed by Ms. Ewa Nadel, the President of MKT, his parents, friends and journalists.

Jerzyk has been very successful on the grass courts of Wimbledon. He completed the eliminations without losing a single set and has already won two matches in the main tournament. On Friday he will play for the advance to the 4th round with the German player seeded 31st - Florian Mayer.

Interview with Jerzyk

Since last Monday Jurek has competed in Roehampton, where the eliminations for this year's third Grand Slam tournament are held. He successfully completed the eliminations stage, beating three opponents and losing the total of 11 games. He also participated in the qualifying match in the doubles tournament, partnered by Jurgen Zopp from Estonia. The main event will commence on Monday.

Jerzy lost in quarter-final in Nottingham (Challenger). In the first round he defeated Laurynas Grigelis (192 ATP) 3:6, 6:3, 6:3. In the second round he defeated Rik De Voest (143 ATP) 6:3, 6:2. In the quarter-final Jerzy lost to Karol Beck (104 ATP) 3:6, 7:6(8), 6:7(1). On Monday Jerzy starts playing in the Wimbledon (qualification) in singles and doubles (together with Estonian).

Yesterday Jurek went to Nottingham, where he will be playing in Challenger on the grass. This way he is going to prepare himself before next Grand Slam – Wimbledon, which starts next week.

Jurek was in the semi-final of Challenger in Prostojev (Czech Republic), in which 13 top-100 ATP players were playing. In the second round Jerzy defeated 61st player – Steve Darcis. Jerzy gained 45 points, which means he will be now 138. player in the world (up to now the highest rank in Jerzy's career).

Jurek achieved 3rd round of qualification in 2nd Grand Slam this year. Playing for the advance to main draw, Jerzy lost to Igor Sijsling (122 ATP) 4:6, 6:3, 4:6. Unfortunately Jerzy suffered an injury of a knee, which resulted in problems with carrying on the game.

In the first match Jerzy defeated Frederico Gil (107 ATP) 7:5, 4:6, 6:2. In the second round Jerzy beat Inigo Cervantes.

This is second Challenger victory in Jerzy's career. On his way to the final Jerzy beat three TOP 100 seed-players. He scored 80 points and is now 152 in ATP Ranking. Next match – qualifications – Roland Garros.
