At the beginning of July Jurek participated in Bastad. Unfortunately, the only match he played there was finished due to his retirement.

Few days before going to Sweden, Jerzy renewed his foot injury. Although he had best intentions, he had to quit the match with Dusan Lajovic 3:6, 1:1 due to a pain.

Just after coming back to Poland he had an examination of his foot done. Fortunately it tuned out that an inflammatory condition is the source of the pain, not a break of sesamoid bone.

Jurek decided to take part in the tournament in Hamburg. In the first round he defeated A. Ramos 6:0, 7:5. In the second round he lost to A. Dolgopolov 4:6, 1:6.
