Grass season Jerzy began in Halle.

In the first round Jerzy met P. Herbert and lost 6(5):7, 2:6.

The tournament in Germany was only an introduction to one of the most important periods of time in tennis schedule - one of the Grand Slams - Wimbledon. 

Although Jerzy didn't manage to repeat his last year's success, he had three good, 5-set-long matches. The first one with Somdev Devvarman ended up 4:6, 6:3, 6:3, 3:6, 6:3. In the second match Jerzy won with Lleyton Hewitt 7:5, 6:4, 6(7):7, 4:6, 6:3. 3rd round match was delayed due to heavy rain. T. Robredo defeated Jerzy 2:6, 4:6, 7:6(5), 6:4, 3:6.
