On 31st of January representation of Poland began its 3-day-long competition in Davis Cup. Finally, Poland defeated Russia 3:2.

Two points for Poland were won by Jerzy who firstly defeated K. Khachanov 6:2, 6:4, 6:4 and then beat D. Tursunov 6:3, 7:5, 7:6 (3)
