Poles defeated the Slovenians 3-2 in the Davis Cup match. The meeting of the first round of Group One Europe/Africa Zone was held at the Centennial Hall in Wroclaw. Jurek was listed as the strongest player in Poland.

Other participating players included Łukasz Kubot and the pair Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski. In the next round, in early April, the Poles will play in Zielona Góra against the representation of RPA.
